Jarosaw Tarnawski was born in Poznań in 1980. A graduate of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań (2004, Elżbieta Karolak), Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (2007, Julian Gembalski), Musikhochschule Lübeck (2012, Arvid Gast), Hochschule Für Musik Detmold (2016, Martin Sander - Konzertexamen).
He is an assistant professor at the Department of Organ at the Poznań Academy of Music. He has won prizes at numerous organ competitions in Poznań, Brno, Bochum, Heidelberg and Schramberg. He was a two-time scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, as well as of the Possehl-Stiftung Foundation. In 2015, he was awarded the Meritorious for Polish Culture honorary badge by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
His interests as a performer include primarily nineteenth and twentieth-century German, French and Polish music. He regularly gives recitals in Poland and abroad.
