Igor Kennaway studied at Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. He is an orchestral and opera conductor, pianist, teacher and editor. He has conducted at many European opera houses including L'Opera de Nice, Stuttgart State Opera, Mannheim, Mainz and Magdeburg. Among the countless orchestras he has conducted are the BBC Symphony, Iceland Symphony, Ulster, BBC and RTE Concert Orchestras. As a pianist, he has accompanied John Shirley-Quirk, Peter Pears, Edith Mathis, Richard Jackson and many others. His edition of the complete score of Ralph Vaughan Williams The Wasps was recorded by Mark Elder and the Hallé.
