Dominic John - WHR041Dominic’s pianism has won him several prizes,including First Prize in the 22nd Brant InternationalPiano Competition, British Music Society Awards,RCM Chappell Gold Medal, a Director’s GoldenJubilee Award at the RCM, Eastbourne SymphonyOrchestra Young Soloist Competition as well as alaureate of the Corpus Christi, USA InternationalCompetition for Piano and Strings. Performancesin this country include the Wigmore Hall, St John’sSmith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields, PurcellRoom, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Fairfield Hall and theBarbican Hall. Overseas he has played in France,Holland, Poland, America, Korea and Japan.He studied at Chethams School of Music, theRoyal Academy of Music and the Royal Collegeof Music where he held the RCM Society JuniorFellowship from 2004-2006. A versatile musician,Dominic is in demand as a soloist, member ofvarious chamber ensembles and accompanist toa wide variety of singers and instrumentalists.Concerto performances include BeethovenEmperor, Brahms No.2, Grieg, Liszt No.1,Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue, Rachmaninov 3rdand Prokofiev 2nd. Of particular note was aperformance with Itzhak Perlman, performancesof Tchaikovsky First Concerto and Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals with the OsakaPhilharmonic Orchestra.Dominic is an Honorary associate of the RoyalAcademy of Music. He is on the faculty ofGoldsmiths University, the Junior Department atthe Royal Academy of Music and also runs hisown concert series, “Notting Hill Concerts”. Thisis his second album for Willowhayne Records.
